Here are the steps To Open a Bigger Compose Window in Gmail

Initially go to your gmail home page and click 'compose' in your left side.
In default when you are composing an email ,a popup 'compose window' at the right bottom corner of the window will open.
What you have to do is to press “Shift” while clicking the Compose button. This will open a bigger Compose area in its own window like shown below.
