but now has become the standard connection interface..as of 2—8 approximately 7 billion USB ports and interface were in the international and global marketplace and above 2 billion were being sold.
Now a fast and super fast version of transferring data that is USB 3.0 has introduced in the mainstream of marketplace. Its hardly been long since USB devices don't burn large holes in your pockets.
Types of USB
USB 1.0 AND USB 1.1
although There are also much number of usb devices which are introduced before this but talk about much faster as compared to them the USB 1.0 was introduced with the ultimate data speed of 12 megabit/s.it was realesed in 1996.Although it also has some limitations and and not become so popular. After that new version of USB is introduced in 1998 that was USB 1.1 .It was better than its previous version and fixed some of the limitation of previous version. It ha s some great feature and now the USB becomes the widely used and most important part of the computers and other devices.
USB 2.0
In 2000 that is 2 year later USB 2.0 was released wit featuring the new features. Its main advantages over previous versions are its awesome speed 60MB/sec.That means it is 10 times faster than usb 1.1.Usb 2.0 become the most widely used and standard connection protocol with the computer devices.
In2006 new modification are done with usb 2.0 and advanced features are included like faster speed, power usage, new connector modification and one of the most important usb on the go feature which enable us to communicate with each other without using a full time host. That means now usb can be connected with tablets ,pc,s, laptops PDA’sand others devices
Further modifications are made in fore coming years which includes charging the devices that is they now are able to withdraw the power as well, less power consumption and much more.
USB 3.0
Now a most fast able data transferrable device USB 3.0 with data transfer of 630MB/secwas released in 2008.Its best feature was it was compatible with usb 2.0It comes with great new and advanced features such as power efficient, superfast data transfer, operates in full duplex mode, usb 2.0 was half duplex mode that means data uploading and downloading can be done simultaneously without shut down of the system in full duplex mode. There are also some disadvantages in usb 3.0 as its driver are not supported by windows 7 and mainstream industries like Intel and Apple didn't start usb 3.0 until 2011.Now windows 8 will come and will be slated to fully support usb 3.0.
